Titanfall 2 is Respawn Entertainment's follow-up to its multiplayer-only original, and the big addition was a full story campaign. You play Jack Cooper, a frontline rifleman who is thrown into a desperate mission when his mentor falls in battle and passes command of the Titan BT-7274 to him.
The heart of the game is the contrast between two ways of fighting. As a pilot you are fragile but extremely mobile: wall-running, double-jumping, sliding and grappling let you move through arenas in ways few shooters allow. When you climb into BT, the pace changes completely — you become a heavy, armoured machine with loadouts built for big fights against other Titans.
What makes the campaign stand out is its variety. Instead of repeating one formula, missions keep introducing fresh mechanics and set pieces, and the relationship between Cooper and BT gives the adventure a surprising amount of warmth. It is a relatively short game, which works in its favour: there is no filler. The multiplayer side keeps the same fast movement and Titan battles for players who want to keep going after the credits.
