About SpeedRunners

SpeedRunners, from DoubleDutch Games, is a side-scrolling competitive racer inspired by classic superhero cartoons. Up to four runners race through looping levels full of ramps, obstacles and anchor points for the grappling hook, which is key to keeping your speed around corners and across gaps.

The screen follows the player in the lead, and anyone who falls behind and drops off the edge of the screen is eliminated. As the round goes on, the screen shrinks, forcing tighter and tighter races until only one runner remains. Pick-ups add a layer of chaos: boosts, rockets, freeze rays and crates you can drop in someone's path.

Controls are simple enough to learn in a minute, but mastering the grapple and knowing each level's shortcuts gives experienced players a real edge. The game supports local multiplayer on one screen and online play, and it is at its best in a group, where every round ends with a mix of laughter and demands for a rematch.
