Portal 2 is Valve's sequel to the 2007 original, and it is widely considered one of the best puzzle games ever made. You wake up in the Aperture Science testing facility with a portal device: aim at a flat surface to open one portal, aim elsewhere to open its twin, and you can move — and throw objects — between the two.
The game builds on that idea step by step. Momentum carries through portals, so falling into one can launch you across a room. New elements like light bridges, laser beams and special gels that make surfaces bouncy or slippery are introduced gradually, so you are always learning something new without long tutorials.
Alongside the story campaign, which is full of humour and well-written characters, Portal 2 includes a complete co-op mode with its own chambers designed for two players and four portals. Communication becomes part of the puzzle. It is an ideal game to play with a friend, and one that has aged remarkably well.
