Forza Horizon 5, developed by Playground Games, is the fifth entry in the open-world side of the Forza series. It takes place in a large, condensed version of Mexico, with areas ranging from tropical jungles and white beaches to dry canyons, colonial towns and the slopes of an active volcano.
The structure is built around freedom. The map is full of road races, off-road events, speed traps, jumps and hidden cars to find, and you can move between them however you like. The driving model sits between arcade and simulation: cars feel distinct and realistic enough to be satisfying, but assists, rewind and adjustable difficulty make it welcoming for newcomers.
The game is set around a festival theme, with music and event hubs, and seasonal updates add new challenges and rewards over time. Online, you can race or explore with other players, but most activities can be enjoyed entirely solo. It is one of the most accessible and visually impressive racing games on PC.
