Euro Truck Simulator 2, developed by Czech studio SCS Software, has been one of the most popular simulation games on PC for more than a decade. The idea is simple: you are a truck driver delivering cargo between European cities, from small towns to large ports and industrial zones.
Driving feels believable without being punishing. You follow speed limits, manage fatigue and fuel, navigate city junctions and reverse trailers into loading bays — which is harder than it looks at first. The world is a condensed version of Europe, with recognisable landmarks, different road signs from country to country and weather and day–night cycles.
Beyond driving, there is a real business layer. Your earnings let you buy trucks, open garages in new cities and hire drivers who work for you while you drive. Many players simply enjoy the calm of the road: long drives at sunset, a podcast or the radio in the background. With regular updates and a large modding community, it is a game people keep for years.
